WANA: Jirga of nine tribes of Ahmadzai Wazir was held with Assistant Political Agent, Kamran Khattak at political compound scouts camp Wana on Saturday regarding maintaining everlasting peace at all cost in Wazir areas.
All elders of the Ahmadzai Wazir jointly told the political administration that they would not allow anyone to sabotage peaceful atmosphere in Wana. We are with state and its current policy, they added.
They revealed that they had inked peace agreement with government in 2007 in wake of expulsion of aliens from their area. Jirga members stand with government in all thick and thin accordance to terms of that agreement.
They also demanded of the government to stop leaders of Pakhtun Tahafooz movement (PTM) at entry check post of South Waziristan agency. They would extend full cooperation to political administration. Assistant political agent, Mr. Kamran Khan said we have got together here to jointly maintain peace and tranquility in the area.
Government would stand with people in maintaining peace in the Wazir area and government could not ignore the sacrifices of Wazir tribe rendered during expulsion of foreigners from Wana, he added.
