F.P. Report

CHARSADDA: Awami National Party (ANP) has decided to convene all parties conference (APC) for permanent solution of all existing problems of modern days being faced by people especially Pakhtuns and vowed to continue constitutional, legal, parliamentary and democratic struggle for its complete resolution.

This was decided during ANP’s think tank meeting chaired by Central President ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan and was attended by members of all Consultative Committee at Wali Bagh Charsadda, says an ANP press release.

Speaking on the occasion, the ANP Chief said final decision about the date of convening APC would be announced later. While regretting delay of Fata merger into KP, he said unnecessary delay in this regard would create complications and demanded its merger before upcoming general elections and giving representation to Fata in Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly.

He also suggested amendment in the Constitution for allocation of Fata’s share in the Provincial Cabinet. The ANP Chief said Fata has been affected by terrorism and called for special financial package for it. He said several precious lives were lost due to landmines in Fata and stressed the need for expediting removal of landmines’ process to stop further loss. Asfandyar Wali underscored the need for ensuring implantation on decision regarding provision of martyrs’ package for heirs of victims of terrorism and landmines’ explosions.

The ANP chief said unnecessary check posts were creating a lot of problems for people including women, children, senior citizens and patients and demanded its complete abolishment besides taking of solid measures for stoppage of incidents of target killing. He added that strict punishment should be awarded to all culprits involved in killing of innocent people including in Naqeebullah Mehsud case.

Asfandyar Wali expressed the resolve that every effort would be made for solution of problems of Pakhtuns related to their lives, properties, business, employment and dignity. Regarding political situation in the country, the ANP chief made it clear that any meddling in 18th Constitutional Amendment would have very dangerous results and his party would not allow success of such attempt besides compromise on the autonomy of provinces.

The ANP chief said his party would continue to fight for rights of Pakhtuns and directed all organizations of the provinces to expedite preparations for the upcoming general elections and also expedite mass contact campaigns. He demanded proper share to Fata and KP in CPEC projects.
