ANP demands resignation of govt over harassment incidents

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Central Secretary General ANP Mian Iftikhar Hussain Monday while expressing deep concern over increasing incidents of sexual harassment against children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, demanded resignation of the KP government over its failure in controlling this menace.

Addressing 8th death anniversary function of late poet, philosopher and Pashto intellectual Ajmal Khattak, he said that KP government accepting its failure in controlling the harassment incidents against children should immediately quit the government.

Iftikhar said the ANP strongly condemned the incidents of harassment against children in D.I.Khan, Kohat, Khushmaqam and Mardan and expressed regret over government’s non serious attitude over a serious matter. The government has no right to remain in power if it could not provide security to the citizenry.

The Awami National Party would continue to raise voice against such excesses in Punjab, Sindh and Balochitan and would block the ways leading to such cases as it’s a new shape of terrorism to terrorize the people under a planned conspiracy.

He also expressed concern over the rising incidents of assassination of Pakhtuns in Sindh province and added that former SSP Rao Anwaar and his network should be netted and brought to justice so that hidden hand behind this conspiracy could be exposed.

Under a planned conspiracy terrorism was being imposed on Pakhtuns in the country and feared that Rao Anwaar may be eliminated during his period of absconder.

Mian Iftikhar urged the government to accept the demands of Mehsud’s tribes protesting against killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud and his family should be provided justice otherwise Awami National Party would launch a moment for it.

Referring to the regional situation, the Awami National Party leader said Russia and America have made this region a hub for their personal interest. Pakistan and Afghanistan should prevail sanity in their policies to ward off the possibility of any threat to the region.
