MARDAN: Awami National Party announced names of candidates for seven constituencies out of total 11of Mardan district for national and provincial assemblies for the upcoming general elections of 2018. Party sources on Tuesday told that there were total three national and eight provincial constituencies within the remits of Mardan district.
At the moment, they said that the party finalized names of candidates for one national and six provincial constituencies. As per decision of Awami National Party, they said that name of Gul Nawaz Khan was confirmed for NA-11 as candidate of the party for next general elections of 2018. Besides, names of Himayatullah Mayar advocate for PK-25, Sher Afghan Khan for PK-26, Nasir Khan for PK-27, Farooq Akram Khan for PK-28, Shahrukh Aman for PK-29 and Hamayun Khan for PK-30 had been confirmed by the party as its candidates for provincial assembly seats.
They said that names for constituencies of NA-9,NA-10, PK-23 and PK-24 would be finalized later on as presently there was some little bit complication in announcement of candidates for those areas. However, it is pertinent to mention that some circles within the Party have expressed its reservations over announcement of the names of candidates for the above mentioned national and provincial assemblies constituencies. They alleged that the party tickets were awarded to blue-eyed party leaders without taking them into confidence before making the said announcement.
