PESHAWAR: President Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali Khan Thursday said that his party would fully participate in the elections to be held for general seats of the provincial assembly in newly merge areas.
Addressing a press conference here at Bilour House after chairing party’s think tanks committee meeting, he said that he would visit every merged area for holding public rallies in connection with the elections.
Asfandyar expressed concern over making one provincial assembly seat for erstwhile frontier regions which ranges from Dara Adam Khel to Balochistan border.
About the Afghan peace process, the ANP leader argued that non inclusion of Afghan government in the process would amount to inviting trouble in the region. The parliament has already passed a resolution stating that Pakistan would only accept those talks which was headed Afghan government.
He feared that Daesh would continue terrorists’ activities in the region if any unilateral agreement with the Taliban was made.
He reiterated call for implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) and added that had NAP been implemented in toto, the incidences of killing of SP Tahir Dawar, Naqibullah Mehsud and Haroon Bilour would not have been occurred.
He challenged the government to make public his property if any in Malaysia and Dubai and called for indiscriminate, impartial and transparent accountability of all irrespective of status and position.
