Anti-corruption court confirms PTI 49 activists bail including 3 MPAs

PESHAWAR: Special Anti-corruption Court Judge Babar Ali Khan has confirmed bail pleas of three Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly along with 46 others in alleged embezzlement in recruitment of staff at Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital, on Tuesday.

According to prosecution, Rs13 million lost has been caused to national exchequer, while the petitioner’s counsel Irfan Yousafzai argued that former MPAs Aziz Ullah Garan, Fazal Hakeem, Mohibullah and Amjad Ali were booked for alleged embezzlement.

The counsel added that the petitioners’ recommended candidates didn’t appointed at Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital and argued that the applicants didn’t liable for imposed section in the case.

However, former MPA and District Development Advisory Committee Chairman Fazal Hakeem withdrew has bail plea from the forum while Special Anti-corruption court confirmed bails of 49 alleged culprits including three MPAs.

Meanwhile, Anti-terrorism court Peshawar has rejected bail plea of three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers allegedly involved in burning Anti-Narcotics Force vehicle after arrest of Imran Khan by National Accountability Bureau on corruption charges on 9th May from Islamabad High Court.

According to prosecution, Zarb Ullah, Jaffar Ali and Muhammad Noor had allegedly burnt ANF vehicle while agitating PTI’s workers for vandalism. The videos of vandalism viral on social media platform while case was registered against them at Landi Kotal police station.

The alleged culprits had obtained pre-arrest bail, however, ATC has turndown their pleas after conclusion of arguments and arrested from the court’s room.
