Anti-encroachment drive in Taxila, Wah enters second phase

TAXILA: Anti encroachment operation in Taxila-Wah area entered in second phase. A joint venture is launched by National Highways & Motorway Police in coordination with National Highway Authority, Local Police and the local government.

By using heavy machinery, the authorities demolished illegal structures, extended sheds, billboards, hoardings and concrete constructions being erected without obtaining NOC from authorities.

These encroachments were obstructing the free flow of traffic and creating hinderence in the right of way for Public. These encroachments had claimed precious lives by causing accidents.

DSP Motorway Police Syed Saqib Hussain, Deputy Director NHA Arshad Abbas, Assistant Commissioner Waqas Marth led the operation.

IG NH&MP Syed Kaleem Imam has issued special directions to remove encroachments and ensure safety of road users.
