FAISALABAD: Pakistan Ulema Council and members of other bodies demonstrated a protests on Tuesday against United States (US) president Donald Trump’s anti-Pakistan remarks.
Protesters gathered at District Council Chowk in Faisalabad and a group staged a protest at Jinnah Chowk in Sukkur among other cities to condemn Trump’s allegations against Pakistan.
A protest was held outside Hyderabad Press Club as well. Protesters in multiple cities have reiterated that Pakistan has rendered numerous sacrifices in war on terror and it is insulting if US asks Pakistan to do more.
Trump had called for a halt to Pakistan’s aid in a tweet posted on Monday citing inaction against terrorism.
The US president regretted US approving aid packages to Pakistan when all Pakistan did for the last 15 years was to fool the leaders.
Both civil and military leadership of Pakistan have rejected States calls in the recent past demanding Pakistan to do more against extremists and banned outfits.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Asif Ghafoor Bajwa had said in a media briefing weeks before Trump’s tirade that Pakistan does not need aid but trust of United States.
