Apex court summons CM Khattak in clean drinking water case

PESHAWAR: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar has summoned Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in a clean drinking water case on Thursday.

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar headed the three member bench while hearing the case in SC Peshawar registry related to the public welfare issues.

During the hearing, CJP remarked that PTI led provincial government is providing dirty water to the people and asked the authorities, “What is the position of availability of clean water in the province? Where is the waste being dumped?”

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary reacted that the waste is being thrown in the rivers.

CJP also inquired about the hospital’s waste material that how much waste is produced by the hospitals and how many machines are available for dumping.

CJP asked the chief secretary that do you have any information about it and adding that we have to work for the betterment of the province. In reply Additional DG health said that they do not have any data.

CJP Saqib Nisar remarked that everyone heard about the good governance in KP but where it is? and directed the officials to collect the data and present it till 5pm in the court.

The bench also summoned report regarding dental and medical colleges.
