F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has appealed to the people to boycott the second phase of parliamentary election drama scheduled to be held in Srinagar and Udhampur, today (Thursday).

The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar said that a military exercise in the name of election was being thrust upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Joint Resistance Leadership, in the meanwhile, has asked people to observe complete shutdown in the poll-bound areas of Srinagar, Badgam and Gandarbal, tomorrow, to protest against the holding of sham elections.

Indian troops started frisking of people in different areas of Srinagar and adjoining areas a day ahead of the second phase of the Indian parliamentary elections. Checkpoints have been particularly installed in several areas of Srinagar where people and their vehicles are thoroughly searched and frisked. Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in Pulwama district, on Wednesday.

New Delhi-based infamous National Investigation Agency has, once again, issued summons to Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt, for questioning. He has been asked to appear before the NIA headquarters on Friday.

India’s Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth millions of rupees of illegally detained Kashmiri businessman, Zahoor Watali in occupied Kashmir. New Delhi uses NIA and Enforcement Directorate to intimidate Kashmiri leadership. Indian police arrested Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement Chairman, Maulvi Bashir Ahmad during a raid on his house in Srinagar.
