Appointment of DG IPR: PHC orders CS to address within 15 days

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench comprising of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC) Justice Musart Hilali and Justice Shakeel Ahmad ordered Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to address of appointment Director General (DG) Information and Public Relation (IPR) within 15 days.

Senior Director IPR Muhammad Imran filed writ petition for neglecting him for DG position because its becomes his as Senior most Direct who already severed the post as Acting DG for several months.

A No Objection Certificate from Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has obtained for appointment of petitioner as DG IPR but on 28th April Establishment department made appointment from Provincial Management Services cadre on the position, the petition stated.

Establishment department neglected senior officials of IPR while Senior Muhammad Imran approached PHC against the appointment of DG IPR from PMS cadre.

PHC announced detailed judgment ordered Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nazeer Aslam Chaudhry to hear the case as Departmental Appeal and provide opportunity to petitioner Muhammad Imran for forwarding his grievance then decide the within 15 days as per law.

It is worthy to mention that Information Officers Welfare Association gone on strike against appointment of PMS cadre officer on non schedule post of DG IPR which is continued from 28th April.
