Aqeel Khan to play in Nazim Peshawar floodlight KP Open Tennis from May 20

PESHAWAR: Pakistan No. 1 Davis Cupper Aqeel Khan will also play in the 2nd Nazim Peshawar Floodlight Open Tennis Championship to be starting from May 20, 2019 here at two Synthetic Tennis Courts of the Qayyum sports Complex.

This was stated by Secretary General KP Tennis Association Umar Ayaz while talking to APP here on Tuesday. He said for the smooth holding of the Championship in which Aqeel Khan, the Pakistan No. 1 Davis Cupper, will also coming to Peshawar to participate.

He also appreciated Aqeel Khan, who is hailing from Nawa Khali to come and play side-by-side with our young players. “Aqeek Khan on his own expenses when invited came to Peshawar with the aim to provide competitive exposure of international standard to our players,” Umar Ayaz added.

He also appreciated Chairman KP Tennis Association, internationally known plastic surgeon, Dr. Tahir Khan, President DIG Muhammad Saleem Marwat, for extending all out support.

He said the Championship, carrying a prize money of Rs. 0.2 million besides attractive trophies, certificates would also be awarded. He said besides Aqeel Khan, top national ranking players including girls would take part in the Girls Under-12 singles, Boys Under-14 Singles and Doubles, Boys Under-18 singles and doubles, Men singles and Men doubles.

Umar Ayaz also appreciated District Nazim Peshawar Muhammad Asif Khan, Regional Sports Officer Jamshed Baloch, Member Sports and Culture Committee Waseem Akram and Chairman Sports and Culture District Govt Mian Khan Afridi for supporting KP Tennis Association both financially and morally.

He said it would be for the first time that the Championship would be played under the newly installed floodlight facilities, thank to former Director General Sports KP Junaid Khan for equipping the courts with floodlight facilities.
