PESHAWAR (APP): Frontier Corps have gunned down six terrorists in an exchange of fire that occurred near Machni area on Friday.

Spokesperson for the agency has reported that a huge cache of weapons was seized after six terrorists belonging to banned terror outfits were killed in Mosul Kor area.

The encounter of security forces today with terrorists has come during wide-scale counter-terror operation across the country that was launched earlier this month in wake of the terrorist attacks in Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Sehwan Sharif that claimed over 100 lives and left more than 200 wounded within five days. Pakistan Army is leading the counter-terrorism offensive called Radd-ul-Fasaad.

Measures have been made at civil and military level to counter cross-border movement of terrorists into Pakistan from Afghanistan. After the fresh wave of terrorism took the country by surprise last month, both the army and civil leadership demanded off Afghanistan to hand over 76 wanted terrorists and pursue against banned organisations using afghan soil against Pakistan.
