Asfandyar grieves over Asma’s death

PESHAWAR: Central President of Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan and General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Sunday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of renowned Lawyer and Human Rights Activists and former President of Supreme Court Bar Association Asma Jahangir.

In a condolence massage issued here, they prayed to Almighty ALLAH to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with courage and fortitude.

Furthermore Asfandyar Wali Khan underline the need of revisiting foreign and internal policies to achieve goal of greater peace in the region and said that existing scenario cannot be changed without bringing positive changes in them.

He was addressing the provincial convention of Malgari Wakeelan in Nishtar Hall as a Chief Guest. He said that dream of bringing lasting peace in the region cannot be achieved without giving new approach to our foreign and internal policies.

He said that survival and unity of Pakhtuns is directly associated with the provision of a congenial and hatred-free environment to next coming generation adding we must shun our difference to achieve the objective.

Asfandyar said that show started in aftermath of Panama has stopped on Nawaz Sharif despite the fact that several more names were mentioned in Panama Papers adding the each and every one should be put for indiscriminate accountability as no one is above the law.

ANP Chief also presented himself for accountability and said that he is ready to accept any punishment if proven guilty.

He also demanded arrest of Rao Anwar and said that he (Rao Anwar) has not only killed Naqeeb Ullah Mehsood but murdered scores of innocents in Sohrab Goth. He also termed killing of Naqeeb Ullah a conspiracy against Pakhtun Nation.

Regarding Mashaal murder, he said that our society has lost tolerance adding the virtue is prerequisite for development of a nation. He said that mob is not authorized to take law in hands and award punishment to anyone.
