Asian Sports Journalists on Podium, Journalists celebrated

Hangzhou : AIPS ASIA awarded certificates to sports journalists who have achieved the distinction of covering five or more Asian Games.

In this regard, a simple but dignified ceremony was held at the Main Press Centre. Korea’s former Olympian and IOC member Seung MinRyu was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the certificates.

AIPS ASIA President Hee Don Jung, Vice President Mubarak Al Boanin, Secretary General Amjad Aziz Malik, Treasurer NiranjanRajbansi and Executive Committee member NimSeong Fong were also present on the occasion.

Korea’s former Olympian and IOC member Seung Min-Ryu said that he represented his country in the Asian Games twice and he thinks that awarding certificates to sports journalists is a recognition of their valuable services.

He also paid tribute to all the members of AIPS ASIA who organized the event for sports journalists.

AIPS ASIA President Hee Don Jung said that basically this idea came from the Qatar Sports Media Committee and its vice president Mubala Al Boaninwhile this event was made possible at a very short notice.

He said that AIPS ASIA received more than a hundred sports journalist’s nominations, from which it can be inferred that sports journalists from different Asian countries regularly cover Asian sports.

Hee Don Jung added that AIPS ASIA will continue to encourage sports journalists in the future and certificates will be awarded at Asian level competitions.

Later, former Korean Olympian and IOC member Seung Min-Ryu, AIPS ASIA President Hee Don-Jung and Vice-President Mubarak Al-Boanin distributed certificates to sports journalists who covered five or more Asian Games.
