Asma Rani case: Prime suspect arrested in Sharjah

ISLAMABAD: The prime suspect in the murder of medical student Asma Rani was arrested on Thursday by Interpol from Sharjah.

Asma Rani, a medical student was shot dead on January 27 Mujahid Afridi after refusing a marriage proposal and after the crime he managed to escape from the country.

While talking to media Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Mehsud told that it will take some time to bring the suspect back to Pakistan.

Authorities in Sharjah also confirmed the arrest of the suspect from an industrial area.

Earlier, the KP police had approached Interpol after the accused, the nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf district president Aftab Alam, fled the country following the incident.

The Interpol had placed Mujahidullah on its most wanted list.
