ATC extends Imran’s interim bail in Jinnah House attack case

F.P. Report

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has extended interim bail of former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan till June 2 in the Zile Shah death and other cases of vandalism.

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Ijaz Ahmad Buttar heard the case on Friday.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan appeared before the court today.

The judge ordered the former prime minister to join the investigation and asked him not to create any hurdle in it.

The PTI chief has been booked in three terrorism cases including torching of Jinnah House.

The ATC judge granted interim bail to Imran in all three cases till June 2 against Rs100,000 surety bonds each.

Earlier, Imran’s car was not allowed to enter the court premises and police stopped his vehicle at the main gate of the ATC.

PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s car was also not allowed to enter the court.

Police told the PTI chairman that the admin judge imposed a ban on the entry of all vehicles inside the court. They said that all accused must walk to the court.

Earlier, PTI Chief Imran Khan moved to the Lahore High Court to secure pre-arrest bail in the Zile Shah death case.

However, the LHC registrar office raised an objection to the petition filed by Imran Khan.

It said that the petition could not be filed in the LHC before submitting a plea for bail to a sessions court.

Sources said that Imran Khan’s lawyers would try to fix the petition for hearing today after removing registrar’s objection.

The Sarwar Road police station booked PTI chairman in the case of Zile Shah’s death in accident.
