ATC grants bail to PTI leaders in Section 144 violation case

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad Tuesday granted bail to the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the case of violating Section 144 and interfering in the state affairs.

The court granted bail to six PTI leaders including Asad Umar and Ali Nawaz Awan.

The judgement on the bail of other PTI leaders including Faisal Javed, Khurram Nawaz and Aamir Kiyani will be pronounced tomorrow.

Asad Umar and Ali Nawaz Awan’s lawyer Babar Awan had appeared in the court.

ATC Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan heard the case.

It is to be noted here that a case against the PTI leaders had been registered in Sanjani police station under various provisions.

On Monday, the court had extended the bail of PTI chief Imran Khan in the same case. Imran’s counsel informed the court that Imran could not be present in the ATC due to his bullet injuries and stated that Imran is unwell.

The court extended Imran’s interim bail till November 28 after accepting the request for exemption from appearance on medical grounds. It also called for the complete medical report of the PTI chief to be submitted at the next hearing.

The case was then adjourned for further hearing till November 28.

The Islamabad police had filed a case against PTI chief Imran Khan and other party leaders for violating Section 144 during their rally in Islamabad held in August.
