Avenfield properties case: Court directs Nawaz’s counsel to limitize cross-examination

ISLAMABAD: Accountability court hearing corruption reference against Nawaz Sharif and his family in Islamabad has directed the Nawaz’s counsel to limitize the cross examining of Wajid Zia.

Judge Muhammad Bashir resumed the hearing after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt Safdar reached the court.

Lawyer of Nawaz Sharif Khawaja Haris is continuing cross examination of Wajid Zia, the former head of Joint Investigation Team in Panama papers case.

Khawaja Harris asked whether JIT had sought record of Capital FZE Company’s owner, director and secretary from the Jable Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA), Wajid Zia retaliated that he had not contacted the company in this regard.

Harris further asked whether he had verified the list over which, JIT head responded “No”.

Meanwhile, Justice Bashir directed Khawaja Harris to limitize his cross examination.
