Avenfiled reference case: accountability court adjourns hearing until 7 May

ISLAMABAD: Investigation Officer of National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) in the Avenfield properties case informed the court on Friday that NAB had filed the London flats reference against Sharif family after collected evidences Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in panama case.

This he said during the hearing of Avenfield properties case against Sharif family on Friday as the Accountability Court-I Judge Mohammad Bashir resumed the hearing today.

Khawaja Harris, counsel of Nawaz resumed his cross-examination of NAB last witness, Imran Dogar in the Avenfield properties reference.

The hearing was later adjourned until May 7 after Haris completed the cross-examination.

At the next hearing, Maryam’s counsel will begin his cross-examination of the investigation officer.

Nawaz and his family are facing three corruption cases in the accountability court after the NAB filed references against them in light of the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Panama Papers case.

Nawaz and sons Hussain and Hasan are accused in all three references whereas his daughter Maryam and son-in-law Safdar are accused in the Avenfield reference only.
