Ayushmann Khurrana to share screen with Amitabh Bachchan in Gulabo Sitabo

MUMBAI: Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar has brought together Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana for his next film, GulaboSitabo. Ayushmann has worked with ShoojitSircar in Vicky Donor and Amitabh Bachchan has worked with the director in Piku and Pink. Written by JuhiChaturvedi, GulaboSitabo, is a quirky comedy.

Shoojit confirmed the big news and said, “Juhi and I have been working on the script for a while now. We all know whenever she comes up with a story, it has her trademark quirk. As soon as I read it, I shared it with MrBachchan and Ayushmann at the same time. I thought it would take some time to develop and take it forward but everyone was so enthusiastic to work on the script, they figured out their dates and here we are, planning to release the film this year itself.”

Produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar the shooting for the film will begin in Lucknow next month and it will be released in November this year itself.

 Talking about the interesting title Shoojit informed that it’s a colloquial term used in the Uttar Pradesh capital. Traditionally Gulabo and Sitabo are glove puppet characters from the north Indian state. Not revealing much about the title, the award-winning director said, “Regarding its association with the story, you have to wait and watch the film to know more.”
