Azerbaijan CGS meets COAS Gen Asim Munir

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development highlighting the strengthening ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of General Staff of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Valiyev Karim Tofig Oglu, held a crucial meeting with Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir.

The meeting, which took place in Islamabad on Tuesday, focused on bilateral defense and security cooperation between the two nations.

The Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR) stated that the discussions primarily revolved around enhancing mutual cooperation in military and professional affairs.

Both General Valiyev and General Munir expressed their commitment to deepening the existing defense collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

Recognizing the shared challenges faced by the two countries, the military leaders underscored the importance of close cooperation in tackling common security threats.

The meeting further emphasised the need to exchange expertise and experiences in various domains of defense and security. It was agreed upon that through enhanced cooperation, the armed forces of Pakistan and Azerbaijan can benefit from each other’s strengths and contribute to their respective defense capabilities.

Colonel General Valiyev’s visit to Pakistan holds great significance as it signifies the growing bilateral relations and the mutual desire to foster stronger defense ties.

The interaction between high-ranking officials from the defense establishments of both countries is expected to pave the way for increased collaboration in areas such as joint military exercises, intelligence sharing, and defense industry cooperation.
