Bajaur tribesmen role in war against terrorism hailed

KHAR: A Grand Jirga was organized by the Headquarters Frontier Corps North on the request of the elders of Bajaur district. Inspector General Frontier Corps North Major General Noor Wali Khan, Deputy Commissioner District Bajaur, DPO Bajaur and local elders participated in the Jirga. IGFC North Major General Noor Wali Khan addressed the participants of the Jirga and welcomed them.

He said that the purpose of holding the jirga is to further strengthen the mutual relations between the district administration, security forces and tribes of Bajaur district and to review various proposals and help in their solution.

IGFC North said that no doubt our tribes are our strength and they have always stood by the side of the government and the army. The brave people of Bajaur have played a very important role especially in the war against terrorism. Their sacrifices for peace will never be forgotten.

The government and the security forces have always tried to give importance to the districts affected by terrorism and not only to restore the infrastructure here but also to provide education and employment opportunities for the people here, especially the youth. Major General Noor Wali Khan said that efforts are ongoing to solve the problems of Bajaur district by ensuring inter-tribal unity.

He said that steps are being taken which will lead this area towards development and prosperity. Work is being done with the district administration to solve the problems through various meetings. Major General Noor Wali Khan said that the area elders gave the best suggestions for the development and peace of the area for which the district administration and security forces will continue to work according to their respective manifestos.

On this occasion, the local elders paid tribute to the security forces for the measures taken to establish peace and development works in the area. They also gave various suggestions for the development of the area & lasting peace and said that they stand with security forces for peace in the region and will identify all those elements who are trying to disturb the peace.

While appreciating this, IGFC North emphasized that we all have to fulfill our responsibilities, and peace in the district is possible with the cooperation of the people and elders only.
