Baltic Fleet held exercises for tankers and motorized riflemen

KALININGRAD (TASS): Tactical exercises with the participation of more than 1,500 servicemen of the motorized rifle and tank regiments of the army corps of the Baltic Fleet were held in the Kaliningrad region at one of the military training grounds, the press service of the fleet reported on Tuesday.

“As part of a bilateral tactical exercise, motorized rifle subunits and tankers were brought to the highest degree of combat readiness, made a 60-kilometer march on standard equipment to the training ground, to perform tasks as intended,” the message says.

It is noted that more than 1.5 thousand servicemen took part in tactical exercises at the training ground near Kaliningrad, about 300 units of military equipment were involved. “As part of large-scale maneuvers, their participants worked out tactical actions as part of reconnaissance and strike (fire) contours with the support of attached artillery, air defense units,” the press service said.

Monitoring of the actions of subunits during maneuvers and conducting fire engagement of forces and means of a simulated ene-my was carried out by calculations of unmanned aerial vehicles. All data was tr-ansmitted in real time from the UAV cameras to the command post of the exercise management, where it was broadcast on special screens, which allowed the leaders to objectively assess the actions of the regimental units in a training battle.

“At the final stage of the exercise, the servicemen carried out live firing from all types of small arms, grenade launchers, armament of infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, artillery and anti-aircraft missiles,” the press service of the fleet concluded.
