LAHORE: Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah Riyadh has enjoyed playing in Pakistan and is hoping to return back stronger in the 1st Test in Rawalpindi starting from February 7th.

“I’ve been here before, Lahore has been a great city and the hospitality, security arrangements were up to the mark. Hopefully, we will return stronger in the Test match,” Mahmudullah said in a post-match presser. Mahmiddulah is not happy with his own performance in the series as a captain and thinks that they should give some time to these young players at the international stage.

“This is the format we have to improve on as we are ranked Number nine in the rankings, the team is young and the potential of performing is also there but we should give them some more time for the international exposure,” he added. The 33-year-old applauded Pakistan pace attack but also said that the wicket was not so easy to bat in the series.

“I always feel Pakistan has a factory of producing pace bowlers. Haris and Shaheen were spot on with their new and old ball skills however, we must have approached the game differently after having the knowledge of the pitch after the first match,” he maintained. It must be noted that the third and final T20I match of the three-match series between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Gaddafi Stadium has been called off due to persistent rain.

The men in green retain the number one T20I spot in ICC T20I ranking after winning the series 2-0. Number one T20I batsman Babar Azam was named as the player of the series for his match-winning performance in the 2nd T20I. Bangladesh will return to Pakistan for the second phase of the tour on February 5th to play the first Test match.
