LANDI KOTAL: Haji Lal Rahim Shinwari was elected as President of Anjuman-e-Tajran Landi Kotal bazaar for two years in election held here on Sunday.
According to the election committee chairman, Shahid Afridi,Haji Lal Rahim Shinwari got 769 votes while his nearest opponent, Safeeullah received 698 votes. Similarly Salman,Tayyab and Kareemullah bagged 392,193 and 171 respectively. It is to be mentioned here that five candidates took part in the election. Earlier, the whole bazaar was divided in 13 constituencies and with assistance of local political administration strict security measures were adopted to avoid any untoward incident.
The election timing was fixed from 08 am till 04 pm and total of 2223 shopkeepers utilized their votes after which counting process was started. The election process was conducted under the supervision of Landi Kotal press club.
