Begum Kulsoom Nawaz hospitalized again: Maryam Nawaz

LONDON (NNI): Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, was admitted to hospital against as her health destabilized late on Tuesday night.

“Ami was taken and admitted to the hospital again late last night. Drs are trying to stabilise her condition. Request for prayers. Allahu Shafi,” said Maryam Nawaz on Twitter Wednesday.

The former first lady is in London nowadays for her throat cancer treatment. She has undergone three surgeries in the hospital. Kulsoom Nawaz is accompanied by her children Maryam, Hassan and Hussain.

Her husband Nawaz Sharif was also in London till Monday; however, he returned to Pakistan to appear in Accountability Court proceeding. Sources said Nawaz Sharif can leave the country tonight to visit his ailing wife in London

Meanwhile, Hussain Nawaz, the son of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, said that his mother Kulsoom Nawaz was admitted to hospital again in London after her health worsened.

Talking to a private television channel Wednesday, Hussain Nawaz said that he had told his father about the present condition of his mother. He appealed to the nation to pray for his mother’s speedy recovery.

Hussain Nawaz also hinted that Nawaz Sharif might travel to London to be with his ailing wife. “I haven’t yet received any program for my father’s arrival in London but obviously he will be coming here inshahullah under these circumstances,” Hussain said.

In a Twitter message, Maryam Nawaz said that her mother was taken and admitted to the hospital again late last night. “Doctors are trying to stabilise her condition. Request for prayers,” she added.
