US President Joseph R. Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have pledged to deepen ties between their two countries, as the leaders held direct talks ahead of a Group of 20 summit in New Delhi at the weekend.
In a joint statement, the US and India vowed to jointly work in multiple domains of their common interest and reaffirmed their support for a free, open, inclusive, and resilient Indo-Pacific region that has become a global arena for contesting nations.
As Biden shared the stage with Narendra Modi, India’s capital was besieged by heightened security, the human rights activists, religious machinery and pro-democracy movements were banned from raising their voices against the BJP’s fascism and RSS’s hyper-nationalism that has made the life of Indian Muslims, and Christians miserable.
Similarly, Kashmiris and Sikhs observed the black day as POTUS abandoned his self-coined legacy of human rights, and democracy by firmly supporting Modi’s authoritarianism, Hindu fanaticism and RSS apartheidism in so-called secular India. Historically, US Democrats had always supported impoverished individuals and marginalized societies and advocated for civil liberties across the globe in the past. President Biden specifically announced its pro-migrants agenda, and worldwide plans for the promotion of democracy, rights rights and freedoms at the beginning of his presidential election campaign in 2020.
After landing at the White House, Biden championed his legacy at selected locations including China’s autonomous Xinging region, Hong Kong, Myanmar etc. which suits US foreign policy at large. Biden blatantly took a mum approach over serious human rights abuses in Indian-held Jammu and Kashmir, Israeli war crimes in Palestine, rising hate crimes and Islamophobia in Western nations including the mainland United States.
The OHCHR and global human rights organizations have categorically mentioned New Delhi’s state atrocities and gross human rights violations in Kashmir that have no mention in Biden’s speeches and media interactions during his maiden visit to India. It is a matter of shame for US strategists that poor nations are marginalized societies have lost their confidence in American morals, which became worthless before the political and economic agenda of American leaders.
