Monitoring Desk

MUMBAI: In the aftermath of his triumphant win in Bigg Boss 17, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui has broken his silence on allegations of the season being ‘fixed.’ Responding to claims that his victory was pre-determined.

The comedian, who emerged as the winner after a riveting 15 weeks inside the Bigg Boss house, addressed the accusations head-on. “Yaar fixed winner ko itna sab go through karna pade toh it can’t be a fixed winner (If one has to go through so much scrutiny as a supposed fixed winner, then it can’t truly be a fixed winner),” Munawar Faruqui asserted.

Faruqui highlighted the challenges and scrutiny he faced throughout the season, emphasizing that if he were a ‘fixed winner,’ he would have had an easier journey. “Pura season gawah hai (The whole season is proof) that I’ve got nothing on a platter, I’ve worked hard and a lot,” he added.

Acknowledging the existence of skeptics, especially in the realm of reality shows, Faruqui commented on the impact of having a strong fanbase. “Mujhe lagta hai ye pyaar hai logon ka (I think I won because of people’s love),” he expressed, attributing his victory to the support of his fans.

Despite the accusations, the comedian seemed resigned to the fact that he cannot change everyone’s opinion.

Reflecting on the possibility of altering perceptions, Munawar Faruqui stated, “Maybe before going to Bigg Boss I would have wanted to change perceptions, but now I feel I can’t change everyone.” He urged those questioning his win to watch the entire season, asserting that it wasn’t a fixed outcome.

Following his victory, social media buzzed with debates over the deserving winner, with some viewers expressing that the first runner-up, actor Abhishek Kumar, was more deserving. However, reports suggested that Munawar Faruqui secured a substantial lead in votes.

Munawar Faruqui not only secured the coveted trophy but also walked away with a substantial cash prize of Rs 50 lakhs.

The highly anticipated moment within the 17th season of the contentious reality show has arrived, with Munawar Faruqui being declared the ultimate winner. The renowned stand-up comic not only clinched the prestigious trophy but also garnered a substantial cash reward of Rs 50 lakh.
