Bilawal criticizes lack of consensus on bill on across the board accountability

F.P. Report

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that his party wants accountability of all people including general and judges but it is very unfortunate that parliamentary committee rejected the suggestions.

This he said while sharing his views on Tuesday at twitter. Bilawal said that PPP wants across the board accountability in the country but the parliamentary committee rejected our suggestions in this regard which is unfortunate.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, also had promised to table a bill but it was backtracked from its stance in the meeting.

Earlier on Thursday, Chairman Senate, Mian Raza Rabbani said that if there is no provision of accountability of judges and general than there is no need to bring such a law.

PPP Senator Farhatullah Babar also said PPP wants the accountability of generals and judges and it is very unfortunate that the party backtrack at the last minute and agreeing that military and judiciary should not be made accountable.

No agreement, however, was reached on the issue.
