Blow to PTI, senior leader Aamer Kiani quits party

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) faced a setback on Wednesday when its senior leader and former federal minister Aamer Mehmood Kiani announced quitting the party.

The PTI leader’s decision comes on the heels of crackdown on the party following vandalism.

Mr Kiani is likely to hold a press conference in the evening to formally announce his decision. He is quoted to have said he will bid farewell to politics.

A day earlier, MNA Mahmood Maulvi jumped ship in protest against what he said PTI workers’ vandalism, especially attack on military installations.
