PESHAWAR: The two-member bench of Peshawar High Court Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Ijaz Anwar directed National Accountability to submit progress report in Bank of Khyber, Billion Tree Afforestation Project and Malam Jabba Scams and adjourned further hearing till 26 January, on Wednesday.
During hearing Justice Rooh-ul-Amin remarked that how can NAB had closed Malam Jabba inquiry while court did not ordered to close the inquiry but directed forest and tourism departments to resolve jurisdiction issues. Justice Rooh-ul-Amin added that court had directed NAB to continue inquiry but NAB closed the reference.
Justice Ijaz Anwar inquired regarding plantation at mountains of Malakand and its impact on climate and environment while the specie already covers the area.
The petition was filed Adil Zareef while counsel Ali Gohar Durrani Advocate argued the case before PHC while NAB Senior Prsecutor Azeem Dad appeared before court.
The counsel for petitioner informed that NAB had closed inquiry regarding Malam Jabba scam while obtained orders from honorable court in this regard while PHC inquired regarding closure of inquiry and also about BTAP.
NAB’s prosecutor informed that had initiated 10 inquiries in which expert opinion were made and one reference is under process while several reports had been dispatched to headquarter. The two-member bench PHC directed NAB to submit report regarding in-progress inquiries and adjourned further hearing till 26 January.
