NEW DELHI (Web Desk): Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has dispelled rumors suggesting that celebrities were paid to attend the lavish wedding festivities of Anant Ambani, son of Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant.
Anant Ambani, married his longtime girlfriend Radhika Merchant, in July, following several pre-wedding events hosted by the Ambani family in March and June. The celebrations attracted a prestigious guest list, including Bollywood A-listers, top Indian cricketers, and influential figures from various sectors, all drawn to what has been termed the “big fat Indian wedding of the year.”
Reports had circulated that attendees received substantial payments for their presence at the high-profile events. However, Ananya refuted these claims, stating that her participation was rooted in friendship. “They are my friends. I don’t understand why people think like this,” she said. “Obviously, I’ll dance wholeheartedly at my friends’ wedding. I love celebrating love.”
Ananya praised the Ambani family for their hospitality, noting that every guest was welcomed with warmth. “No matter how many functions were there, they greeted everyone with so much love,” she added.
Reflecting on the couple’s connection, she shared, “Whenever Anant and Radhika would look at each other, it was just pure love. It felt like violins were playing behind them. That’s something I want in life—no matter how much chaos is around, you and that person share that connection.”
It is worth mentioning that the wedding celebrations for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, which began earlier this year, continued in Mumbai until July 14, featuring attendance from Bollywood stars, Indian cricketers, and influential personalities from around the world.
