Peshawar: Chinese President Xi Jinping visionary BRI’s flagship China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) second phase will bring new chapters of prosperity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan in line with other parts of the country.
The Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be benefited with the establishment of new industrial economic zone where in not only industrial & economic development activities will be transformed in to less developed area at par with developed area. This was stated by the speakers at China Study Centre, University of Peshawar & Centre for Belt and Road Initiative and China Studies- Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies in collaboration with Pakistan-China Friendship Association (PCFA) Khyber Chapter, organized a Roundtable on ” CPEC: Opportunities for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” this morning at China Study Centre, University of Peshawar. Mr. Hassan Daud Butt, Chief Executive Officer Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment & Trade (KPBOI&T) was Keynote Speaker.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has immense opportunities with effective strategies and policies, we will be able to get the maximum benefits out of the upcoming second phase of CPEC completing with speed. He further put forward the ideas to innovate research and development cooperation with exchanges between Pakistan scholars and those in China. Prof. Dr. Zahid Anwar, Director China Study Centre, University of Peshawar Dr. Muhammad Abid, Dean Numerical Sciences, University of Peshawar, Syed Ali Nawaz Gilani, Secretary General, PCFA-Khyber Chapter mentioned that we should enhance our capabilities by getting more and more scholarships for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fields of education technical and fields which will increase capacity building of peoples enabling us to achieve to desired economic & social development which will further strengthen Pak-China exemplary friendship, Farhat Asif, President, Centre for BRI and China Studies- Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, Islamabad also spoke on the occasion, and she mentioned the activities & achievements of the institute.
