BRT project had put lives on standstill: Sikandar

Peshawar: Qaumi Watan Party provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao said that due to lack of vision brought the serious crises in the province. He said that lack of proper planning of BRT project had put the lives of the people on standstill.

He said this while addressing a public gathering at shaheen muslim town Peshawar city on Sunday.

Sikandar Sherpao that there was no uniformity in the Pakistan Tehrik-e- Insaf led government due to which chaos had been created in the province. He said that it is failure on the part of the provincial government that had finalized the design for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project only just that the lives of wad made miserable. He said before on the name of Peshawar beautification the precious public money wasted which seems a great disservice to the people of the province. He lashed out at the PTI government for relying on ‘lip service,’ instead of adopting pragmatic measures for the progress of the province and the rulers does not look at economic growth in isolation. He said that provincial government boasting over its performance was just rollercoaster developmental growth.

“QWP is the strongest support of the rule of law and democratic uplift. He said that the ongoing situation of confrontation among the institution was not good for democratic health of the country” Mr. Sherpao added.

Sikandar Sherpao believes that the solution to problems lies in looking inwards to dialogues between the institutions on the governance issue, mentioning that pointless political wrangling and politics of agitation was not in good favor of the state.

He said that the time had come for political forces to lead the process of revival instead of blame game. He said that we have long suffered the consequences of failure to build a national consensus on key policy areas of governance. He asked the political leadership to focus on the upcoming election, so as to ensure free and fair polls within time.
