Bus flips over in valley killing, injuring 2 people

BADGHIS (Khaama Press): Two women were killed and injured when a passenger minibus fell in a valley on the Herat-Badghis highway, according to local Taliban officials in the province of Badghis in northwestern Afghanistan.
According to Dr. Abdul Sattar, the Acting Director of Public Health for the Badghis province, this incident took place on Thursday in the Golay Tang region of Badghis province.
The minibus allegedly started moving and fell into the valley as the driver was fixing the technical problem that had initially caused the vehicle to be stopped on the highway, according to a source who spoke to the media.
All of the passengers in the minibus, except for two women, got out, according to the source. One of the women died, and another was wounded. On the other hand, some sources assert that the traffic incident resulted in the deaths of at least four people and the injuries of thirteen others.
A passenger van earlier in late September overturned in the Waras district of the Bamyan province in central Afghanistan, resulting in two fatalities and five injuries. The number of traffic-related fatalities in Afghanistan’s different provinces has increased significantly in the last couple of months.
