Cabinet approves extension of SC, IHC jurisdiction to FATA

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet decided to extends the jurisdiction of Supreme Court and Islamabad High Court to the tribal agencies of Pakistan as a first towards implementation of the FATA reforms in the tribal belt.

In the six members FATA reforms committee they recommended to merge the FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and extends the jurisdiction of Peshawar High Court to FATA but instead of given approval to these recommendations. The federal cabinet decided to extends the SC and IHC to FATA which is clear sign that government is not interested in implementation of FATA reforms as per recommendations which was prepared as per the wishes of tribesmen.

PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi chaired a federal cabinet meeting and approved the extension of SC and IHC jurisdiction of FATA and declaring it a big achievement towards including the FATA in mainstream and bill in this regard will soon be presenting in parliament and after that controversial Frontier Crimes Regulations will also demolish in the better interest of the masses.
