Career Management Course at NIM Karachi

KARACHI: The Chief Instructor MCMC, Ms Samina Intizar started the ceremony by highlighting the importance of this course and how it will help in efficient public delivery. She further said that government machinery is integral part of government and these trainings further polish their skills in public administration. Then Chief Guest Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab addressed the 34 participants of MCMC course.

He said “I have worked with all tiers of government machinery. What i like with young officers is that they have right mixture of idealism and pragmatism. These courses where you interact in public domain are necessary to keep idealism alive”. Further, he added “the world is changing and we have to change our attitude. The common man is looking for answers related to provision of basic amenities”.

Moreover, Murtaza Wahab stated that biggest problem for Pakistan is brain drain. He said “I have studied from public school and I take pride in it. Its a debt we owe to our country and everyone should think like this. We are the ones who will make the difference and take initiatives in the form of one window solution”.

On highlighting importance of bureaucracy he mentioned “Politicians come and go, the bureaucracy has a relationship with state for nearly 30 years. They guide the politicians in providing relief to the people”. He reiterated that decision making seems missing and there is reluctance from officers. He said its necessary to take timely decisions in order to provide relief to public.

After the ceremony during press conference Mayor Karachi said that he has taken initiative regarding water issue in Karachi in K-3 but the mafia has gathered public to protest against them. Further he mentioned that all hospitals should be under provincial government in order to improve efficiency.

The passing out ceremony was concluded with a group photo of participants with Mayor Karachi.
