ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthen Pakistan-Russia bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
He was talking to Head of the Russia-Pakistan Friendship Group of the Russian Federation Council Senator Vladmir Chizhov, who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Senator Chizhov is visiting Pakistan as an International Observer for the general elections being held tomorrow.
The Foreign Minister underscored Pakistan’s commitment to free and fair elections and explained the electoral process and security arrangements for peaceful and transparent elections.
Besides, the Foreign Minister held separate meetings with Norwegian Ambassador Per Albert Ilsaas and Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins.
Discussions in these meetings focused on enhancing Pakistan’s engagement and cooperation with Norway and with Australia.
