Cases before SC’s bench delisted due to CJP’s illness

ISLAMABAD: All the cases scheduled for hearing before Bench No. 1 of the Supreme Court today have been delisted, for Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial will not be able to hear the cases due to illness.

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Athar Minallah were the part of CJP’s bench. At least 12 cases were scheduled for hearing before the bench.

“The cases were delisted on account of unavailability of the CJP due to ill health,” the spokesperson for the Supreme Court said.

It was also reported that the CJP was in his village the other day, and he was suffering from fever, body ache and flu. He will hear the cases after recovery from illness. Sources said a doctor has carried out complete check-up of the chief judge at his residence.

Moreover, the cases scheduled for hearing before the Supreme Court’s Bench No. 2 consisting of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Shahid Waheed were also delisted.

A new bench consisting of Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Aminuddin Khan was formed for hearing of the cases of Bench No. 2.

The registrar office of the Supreme Court released the list of the cases scheduled for hearing before Bench No. 2.
