MUMBAI: Shahid Kapoor and Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu is nearing its release and fans are already super excited about the project. Other than this film, Singh has also planned to make a biopic on Dr Verghese Kurien, who’s known to be the Father of the White Revolution in India.
The script is being developed out of the visionary’s autobiography – I Too Had A Dream. Reportedly, Ekta Kapor’s Balaji Motion Pictures has acquired the film rights for the book, which chronicles the life of Dr. Kurien, who dedicated his life to shaping the milk industry of India. He was also known as the ‘Man behind Amul’.
It was during the film of Batti Gul when the filmmaker narrated the script to Shahid and he instantly agreed to be part of the project.
The filmmaker told Indian media, “The next film with Shahid is not based on any social issue. It is in the hard-hitting space. No one has seen Shahid in that space before. Work on the script is on.”
He further added that he wanted to make the film entertaining and appealing for the audience.

MUMBAI: Sharing her life-changing experience of dealing with depression, Deepika Padukone was present at an event where the actor recalled and shared her phase.
Deepika also has her own NGO called The Live Love Laugh Foundation, which was founded in 2015 and helps people deal with their issues of mental health. While present at the event, Deepika was asked to comment on all the reports doing rounds about her November wedding with beau Ranveer Singh. Responding to it, angry Deepika said, “I am certainly not answering this question… It’s an extremely insensitive question to ask at an event like this.”
Further talking about her battle with depression, I just felt that it was important for me to share something that was very personal to me, something that had changed my life, and something that I felt had a lot of stigma when I was experiencing it. I remember telling myself and all the people around me during my journey of recovery, and saying that if by sharing my story, I can even save one life…

MUMBAI: Varun Dhawan is gearing up to collaborate with father David Dhawan for a third time after Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2.
Reportedly, the young star will join his father and elder brother, filmmaker Rohit, to launch their own production house. Their No 1 series will be the first project to roll out of the banner.
Apparently, the banner is in the initial stages of planning. A source revealed that Varun’s films have been getting a good recovery on satellite and music rights, with the television premiere of Judwaa 2 setting records.
The home production is expected to go on the floors in 2019, since Varun is currently shooting for Abhishek Varman’s period drama, Kalank. The Dharma Productions’ film also stars Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. Further, the actor has signed Remo D’souza’s dance film opposite Katrina Kaif, which is likely to roll in December. Varun will also be seen in Shashank Khaitan’s Rannbhoomi.
MUMBAI: There’s positive news coming in for Bollywood actor Salman Khan. He will not be required to take permission from the court every time he travels abroad as a sessions court on Wednesday granted an application moved by him in this regard. The sessions court is hearing the appeal against a five-year sentence to Khan in a poaching case.
The actor’s counsel Hastimal Saraswat said in a statement, “We had moved an application seeking permanent exemption for Khan from taking permission of the court every time he has to travel abroad. The court allowed the application.”
But the actor still must provide detailed information about his journey before he leaves the country. “He will have to keep the court informed of any such plans before leaving the country like the dates, the location and the stay,” Saraswat reportedly said.
Other than this, Salman Khan is currently busy shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat in which he will be seen sharing the screen with Katrina Kaif once again after their last blockbuster – Tiger Zinda Hai. Bharat also stars Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and Tabu in important roles.
MUMBAI: Parents to their two-year-old baby girl – Misha Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, and Mira Kapoor finally welcomed their second child last night at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.
Blessed with a baby boy this time around, it sure has become an adorable family of four now. Mira Kapoor was admitted in the hospital last evening post which her mother Bela Rajput, Shahid’s mother Neelima Azim and stepbrother Ishaan Khatter visited her.
It was on April 20 this year when Shahid and Mira announced their second child on Instagram. The couple had posted a picture of their daughter Misha with a backdrop saying “Big Sister.”
Despite his super hectic work schedule all these months, Shahid made sure to spend the maximum amount of time with Mira. The two were spotted on various lunch and dinner dates in the city. Shahid and Mira had tied the knot on July 7 in 2015 in Gurugram, the couple later became parents to little Misha in August 2016.
