CCTV cameras removed from Jati Umra

LAHORE: The security cameras installed on Punjab government expense at former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s residence Jati Umra  have been  removed on Saturday following the direction of the apex court.

According to details, the Close Circuit TV (CCTV) cameras were installed at surrounding of Jati Umra with the cost of 60 million as all the expenditure were done by the government.

These most expensive night vision cameras installed by the government for the security of the former prime minister.

Earlier, the 450 security personnel deployed on Jati Umra have been called back after the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar order of withdrawal of security from all VIPs.

The IGP submitted that these officials were deputed on security of 297 politicians, 537 civil administration officers, 54 media persons and media houses, and 23 lawyers, in response to a court query.

He further submitted that 49 police mobiles were also withdrawn from security of non-entitled individuals.
