CEC calls for high security alert ahead of elections

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has instructed the chief secretaries and IGs of all four provinces to keep the security on high alert in view of the upcoming elections, on Wednesday.

He also urged them to complete the appointment of security personnel as soon as possible to ensure the safety of the voters, DROs and ROs.

The CEC expressed his sorrow and regret over the recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan and directed them to take immediate steps to prevent such attacks. He said that the ECP is committed to holding free, fair and transparent elections in a peaceful environment.
