Census result: MQM-P is all set to hold protest rally in Karachi today

KARACHI: The workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) were all set for the protest rally against provincial census results at Liaquatabad flyover against the provisional census results in which senior party leaders will participate.

Farooq Sattar, Chief of MQM-P distributed invitation of the rally at Jama Cloth Market and said that once the census results are corrected then 500 union committees would be formed.

Party senior leaders including, opposition leader in Sindh Assembly, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, along with another leader of MQM-P, Kanwar Naveed, invited people from different areas of the central district to the rally and Rauf Siddiqui and Kamran Tessori, also visited the rally site to examine preparations.

MQM-P leaders said to the media on the occasion that it is injustice to undercount the population of Karachi in the latest census and adding that Karachi’s population in actual is around 30 million, whereas according to the census it is 10.6 million.

Pakistan’s total population has been recorded at 207.774 million, according to the provisional summary results of the sixth population and housing census.
