FP Report
WASHINGTON DC: On February 8, spanning the hours from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sanaa time, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces executed a series of seven self-defense strikes targeting four Houthi unmanned surface vessels (USV) and seven mobile anti-ship cruise missiles poised for launch in the Red Sea. Operating within Houthi-controlled territories of Yemen, these identified threats were deemed imminent to both U.S. Navy vessels and merchant ships navigating the region. CENTCOM’s swift response aimed to safeguard freedom of navigation, bolstering the security of international waters for both U.S. Navy fleets and merchant convoys.
