CEO Abdullah, JIA members donate blood
KABUL: Some members of the Jamiat-i-Islami Afghanistan (JIA), including Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah has marked the Martyrs Week in a different manner by donating blood to the injured of recent terrorist attacks in the country.
Ahmad Shah Massoud’s elder son Ahmad Massoud, former Defence Minister Bismillah Mohammadi, former Interior Minister Taj Mohammad Jahid, former Spy Chief Amrullah Saleh and other senior JIA members donated their blood. The blood donation idea was generated and facilitated by the Ahmad Shah Massoud Foundation. The blood donators have asked the people and supporters of Ahmad Shah Massoud to give their blood to the injured of recent attacks and security forces to honour the martyrs week and prevent it from shedding.
Earlier, the Massoud Foundation announced the Martyrs week would be differently celebrated this time by donating blood, offering recitations of Quran and providing food and charities to the less fortunate people.
Referring the donation of blood to the injured of recent incidents, the CEO said while remembering the moral character of Ahmad Shah Massoud the activities that could harm the masses should be avoided. He added a very simple donation and charity that an ordinary Afghan could do it, it would be the donation of blood to the injured of the recent attack. He added commemorating the martyrdom of Ahmad Shah Massoud was meant by the recalling of all martyrs of the country.
