Chairman CDA will be responsible: SC

Islamabad: The apex court on Tuesday observed that if by-laws not implemented then responsibility would be held on Chairman Capital Devel-opment Authority (CDA).

A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan, heard the case of illegal construction of marriage halls. During the hearing the Chief Justice Main Saqib Nisar made it cleared that if by-laws not implemented then responsibility would be held on Chairman CDA.

On this additional Attorney-General has assured the court CDA’s by-laws would be implemented in true spirit after given advisements in Newspapers in this regard. On this Chief Justice questioned does CDA broad meeting held?.

Attorney General responded that CDA Board meeting was held and added that conditions of sewerage and waste management have included in this.

Moreover he added that marriages halls would be regulated in six month time period. It was worth mentioned here that Supreme Court on Monday hearing expressed dissatisfaction over a report submitted by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) regarding illegal construction of marriage halls.
