KARACHI: Quetta Gladiators’ captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, in an interview with Cricket Pakistan, claimed that it will be tough for teams to adjust to the conditions in Abu Dhabi, after clashing in Pakistan during the initial matches of the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.

The Quetta Gladiators’ skipper believed that teams will have to change their strategies considerably coming into this stage of the tournament.

“Obviously the conditions are going to be completely different [in the UAE than in Pakistan]. I believe this tournament has been turned into a single league basis. The position of the teams is different now because players have been changed.

This will be a very different tournament now. It will be tough for the teams to adjust. We are now going to the UAE from Pakistan. We had excellent pitches in Pakistan and the pitches in the UAE help spinners to some degree. The teams will have to change their strategies. They will now have to come to the ground with good strategies,” Sarfaraz said.

The 34-year-old claimed that the Quetta Gladiators side will be treating the remaining matches as a new tournament as they aim to qualify for the next stage of the HBL PSL 6. “As a captain I will be taking this part of the tournament as a league in itself. We will try to start this tournament as if we are starting a new tournament.

We will just be looking at the remaining five matches. If we put in good performances in these five matches than our team can definitely qualify for the next stage,” he concluded.
