JALALABAD: Unexploded ordnance killed a child and wounded three others, residents said Monday. Some children had found an unexploded rocket round and were hitting it with rock in the Qeelgho area of Khugyani district when it went off, local resident told Afghan media.
According to local resident, a nine-year-old boy was killed and three others wounded in the explosion, adding the injured were shifted to hospital. Unexploded ordnances are a big threat to the people in Afghanistan despite the spending of huge funds on clearing landmines and other ordnances.
