KABUL: The visiting Chinese delegation led by state commissioner for counter terrorism and security, Cheng Guoping, called on National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib and discussed with him mechanism on implementation of cooperation between the two countries.
A press release issued by National Security Council (NSC) here on Thursday quoted Cheg Guoping as saying that his visit to Afghanistan was aimed at expanding cooperation between the two countries in political, security and economic sectors, especially exchanging views with Afghan national security advior on promotion of cooperation between Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province and Chinese autonomous region of Xinxiang in fighting terrorism.
He said China fully respect Afghanistan’s national integrity, democratic system and development plan and support Afghan-led and Afghan owned peace process in regional framework.
Dr. Hamdullah thanked China for its assistance and cooperation to Afghanistan and briefed the visiting Chinese delegation on arrival of foreign terror groups in Afghanistan and nature of their training.
He said Afghanistan rendered huge sacrifices as frontline state in war on terror and committed to take advantage of the opportunities in fighting terrorism and establishment of regional stability.
He assured the Chinese delegation that a high-level security delegation of Afghanistan would soon visit China and discuss relevant issues with Chinese officials.
Earlier, the Chinese delegation met President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah.
